Phenom Release Date, Clocking Speed and Per-Core Clocking
AMD's Phenom which was previously expected to be released on 20th November is now expected to be released on 19th November. As previously reported that AMD is planning to introduce three Phenom's by the end of this year which includes Phenom 9500 having a clock speed of 2.2GHz, Phenom 9600 of 2.4GHz and Phenom 9700 of 2.6GHz. Previously, it was expected that AMD will release Phenom 9500 and Phenom 9600 on November 20 where as Phenom 9700 will be released somewhere in December.
However, currently rumors are flying that AMD is planning to lower the clock rates of Phenom 9700 and Phenom 9600 to 2.4GHz and 2.3GHz respectively. There is no change in the processors power ratings and now all three are expected to be released on the same date i.e. on 19th November.
In another interesting rumor, it has been said that Phenom will be bundled with per-core clocking ability with which you can decide how much each core should individually clock at and if you feel that any of the core doesn't needs to work for you currently, you can simply clock it zero and save your power.
