Microsofts Opens Up IE7 for All Windows Users
The most important news of the day came from the Microsoft's Internet Explorer blog where IE program manager, Steve Reynolds wrote about a major update in IE7. Many of Non-Genuine Windows XP users have been cursing Microsoft for the Genuine Windows Validation check in the IE7 installer since the day it was released an year ago. But today, Steve Reynolds announced that IE7 will no more have Genuine Windows Validation check in its new simple to use MSI installer. Moreover, the First Run experience will now have a new overview for the users and the visibility of menu bar for XP users have been set to True by default.
Steve Reynolds also stated that IE7 have been able to stop more than 900,000 million security attacks from different websites per week. If we take on his words, IE7 is soon going to become the most popular browser. We don't know whether this is will be true or not, but this act of opening arms to Non-Genuine Windows user will certainly give IE7 a steep rise of shares in the very competitive Browser market besides accomplishing Microsoft's commitment to ensure the security of the entire Windows XP system.

One of the main reasons Microsoft is doing this is to regain marketshare that has been lost to firefox.
That increase in marketshare will simply result in an improved bottom line.
