Vista Tip - Setup Speech Recognition, Make Vista Work On Your Voice
The Speech Recognition came into existence in Windows XP which has been further extended in the Windows Vista edition. But only few of us know how to setup a speech recognition system although it is much more effective and easier than it was in XP. Here is a quick way to setup speech recognition in Vista.
- Connect your Microphone to your computer.
- Go to Vista Control panel by clicking Start | Control Panel.
- Now switch to Classical View.
- In the Classical View, open up the Speech Recognition Options.
- A new window will open up and click on 'Start Speech Recognition'.
- This will open up the Setup Wizard, click on Next.
- Select your Microphone and click on Next.
- Now after going through the instructions given by Vista for your Microphone, read out the sentence their aloud so that Vista can adjust the volume levels according to your voice.
- Click on Next and activate 'Document Verification' and again click on Next.
- In the next page, you can get speech reference commands by clicking on Display Reference Cards. You can either print them or just skip it and go on the next step by clicking on Next.
- Finally, you will be asked to whether Vista should start Speech Recognition automatically at the start or not.
- Sit back on your chair, hold up your Microphone and make Vista work on your voice.
