Me.dium - Social Web Browsing Redefined
Me.dium is a social browsing site that lets you know what others in the world are browsing. This simple Firefox add-on simply sits as a sidebar on your browser and lets you know what others are looking at relevant to the sites that you have surfed. Me.dium is a real cool widget that you love to watch always and see what other users or even your friends are browsing, and a click on them will take you to that website.
Besides this, you can chat to the users that have recently browsed a website that you have or invite your friends to the Me.dium and have an online chat while browsing the web. You can also integrate this simple widget to your blog or website in the form of a simple javascript code. Me.dium has come out of Beta testing stage just yesterday and they have already created a buzz in the Web 2.0 community.
One thing that new users trying Me.dium will always be concerned of is the privacy. Me.dium developers has taken care of that and if you are browsing a banking website or your mail account, it just stops tracking your browsing activity till the time you are browsing it. Once you leave it all goes back to normal, but believe me lots of information is poured out of your web browser. In order to decide the users for their privacy levels they have given them the options to hide them from the entire world or make them visible only to their friends.
At the end, I would say that Me.dium recently coming up for IE will be quite popular among the masses. I wasn't able to find any limitations with all those nice animations going in the neighborhood of your browsing area. Yes I agree, it does lessens up your browsing area but I can afford that for the great experience to look what others are browsing.
