A look at Windows Live Writer Beta 2
Windows Live Writer recently launched the new Windows Live Writer Beta 2 and here we come up with a review of it. Windows Live Writer Beta 2 is around 5 MB software that you can download from the Windows Live Writer Beta 2 site.
The system requirements for Live Writer Beta 2 are .Net framework 1.1 or higher and Windows Installer 3.1 or higher. The installation process went away smoothly except the fact that I didn't have Windows Installer 3.1 which I had to download from the Microsoft's website. On launching the Windows Live Writer Beta 2 it first comes up with a startup image that gives you a feel that you are working in 3D mode with amazing colour combinations that eyes love. Now, Windows Live Writer Beta 2 is launched and the first look at it were great. The graphics were great with a better Windows Live look to the interface.
So, now move on to the main addition to the Windows Live Writer Beta 2
- Inline Spell Check: This is one of the important addition to the Windows Live Writer as it allows the bloggers to know about their spelling mistakes as they write and it does not require manual spelling check as was the case in Beta 1 edition.
- Table Editing: This is another major addition as bloggers have been always crying for that. Tables will allow bloggers to make their blogs more easier to understand in the form of tables.
- Ability to add categories: Following Blogjet 2.0, Windows Live Writer Beta 2 has given this facility which allows you to add categories to your blog from the Writer itself. Just select the category from the drop down menu placed under the posting area of the software and you are done.
- Improved Hyperlinking and image insertion: Well truly speaking till now I didn't found any big difference between the previous Beta 1 version and the new Beta 2 regarding this feature. However, if they save that it is the case we had to beleive that.
- Paste Special: Paste special seems to be interesting but can it allow us to paste from other software such as Office etc.

- Windows Live Writer Beta 2 is available in 6 languages
- It supports the new Blogger feature Labels.
- It can be integrated with the Windows Live Image Gallery
Oh! I forgot to tell you one most important feature of Beta 2. Well its the ability to extend the functioning of Live Writer Beta 2 by installing plug-ins. This can make Windows Live Writer Beta 2 go to the extreme and can do what plug-ins did for Firefox. Plug-ins allows the developers to use their ideas and make additions to the software such as Windows Live Writer Beta 2 to work according to their requirements. Some of the coolest plug-in available for all of us are Screen Capture, Flickr4Writer and many more.
