ZOHO Office Suite - Simple and Easy way to make Documents, Spreadsheet and Presentations online
Google Docs and Google Calendar have been discussed as a great way of making and storing your documents online. But Google Docs is facing tough competition from Zoho Offics Suite. Zoho unlike Google Docs is not just limited to only docs and spreadsheet but has all the tools for office environments. Some of them are listed below:
- Zoho Writer - Write your docments online: This is an online word processor from Zoho. So, it can be seen as an equivalent to Google Docs. The Zoho writer looked more neat and clean than Google Docs and is packed
with facilities which allows you to build templates, share docs with others and make some documents public so that everyone can see your work. Another great feature of Zoho is that it allows its users to import a document from your PC directly into the Zoho database so that you don't have to do the copy and paste work in order to work with your files. Moreover, they have a big Template Library from where users can choose a template most suited to their work. In all Zoho provides its users a powerful word processor. - Zoho sheet - Simple, impressive and powerful spreadsheet: This is an equivalent to Microsoft's Excel or Google's spreadsheet. On the first look I
thought that I was sitting in front of Microsoft's Excel. It so beautifully approximates it that one has to say that they had done a great work. Although I really didn't find any difference in features between Google Spreadsheet and Zoho but I prefer Zoho as it approximates more to Microsoft's Excel, thus making it easier to work. However Zoho sheet is still in beta version. - Zoho Show - Make your presentations with ease: This is an equivalent to Microsoft's Powerpoint software in the Office suit. Well, Google doesn't
have any powerpoint equivalent but Zoho show isn't good either. It has some great inbuilt templates too and also the facility to import makes the transfer of files easier but it doesn't have enough tools to make great powerpoint presentation. May be time will make this service too great as the other too have been or may be Google can come up with great ideas in this web application. - Zoho Planner - Plan your day: Zoho Planner allows you to set reminders, upload files and images and make notes so that you don't forget a special thing of your life and keep track of you daily activities. This is equivalent to the Google Calendar service but has to be developed a lot if it has to stand anyway nearby Google Calendar.
Besides these there are many other services offered by ZOHO which I might be taking up in my coming posts. Finally to sum up, I could only say that ZOHO is far better than Google Docs and spreadsheet and it might be quite difficult for the Big G to beat them up.
